Marine Fleet Technician - Europe

Location: Ireland (Home Based) – frequent travel to Europe (mainly France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Start Date: Immediate
Salary: €38,000 - €40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Reporting To: Regional Operations / Technical Management Team

As our fleet continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Marine Fleet Technician to support multiple bases across France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced marine technician who enjoys travel, variety and hands-on technical work.

Based in Ireland, you will travel regularly across Europe providing technical support to our operational bases, ensuring our fleet remains safe, reliable and maintained to the highest standards. You will work alongside local technical teams, assist with troubleshooting complex issues and help keep our boats customer-ready throughout the season.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in marine diesel engines, electrical systems and general boat maintenance and be comfortable working independently in different locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs across the Le Boat fleet.
• Diagnose and repair faults on marine diesel engines, electrical systems, pumps and onboard equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Support local base teams with technical expertise and problem-solving.
• Perform preventative maintenance and fleet improvement work.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with manufacturer recommendations and company standards.
• Assist with commissioning and decommissioning of vessels.
• Support emergency technical interventions and breakdown assistance when required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting.
• Ensure vessels are presented to customers in excellent operational condition.
• Travel frequently between Le Boat bases across France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Demonstrate flexibility to meet seasonal operational requirements, including occasional weekend work when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Marine Technician, Boat Technician or Marine Maintenance Technician.
• Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines.
• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing electrical faults.
• Experience working on marine mechanical systems, pumps, batteries and associated equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full driving licence.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Europe.

Desirable

• Experience working with Nanni diesel engines .
• Marine engineering or technical qualifications.
• Experience supporting a commercial fleet environment.
• Knowledge of inland waterway vessels.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

• Be based in Ireland.
• Hold a valid EU passport.
• Be fully eligible to live and work in Ireland and travel freely across the European Union.
• Be available to start as soon as possible.
• Be comfortable with regular European travel and overnight stays.
