Pipe Welder (TIG & Stick) - High-Rise Construction

Location: Downtown Denver, CO

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Pipe Welders to support a major high-rise construction project in Downtown Denver. This position involves welding carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems used in commercial mechanical and plumbing applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong TIG and Stick welding experience, be comfortable working in a variety of field conditions, and consistently produce high-quality welds while maintaining strict safety standards. Candidates must be able to pass a weld test before starting work.

Responsibilities

• Weld carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems for commercial construction projects.
• Perform TIG and Stick welding in field installation environments.
• Complete welds according to project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, piping drawings, and welding procedures.
• Perform pipe fit-up and ensure proper joint preparation.
• Utilize scratch start TIG processes and perform back purging when required.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance.
• Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, on ladders, and from aerial lifts.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial or industrial pipe welding experience preferred.
• Proficient in both TIG and Stick welding .
• Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel pipe.
• Knowledge of back purging, scratch start TIG processes, and field welding techniques.
• Ability to work in all jobsite environments, including:
  • Man lifts
  • Ladders
  • Confined spaces
  • Elevated work areas
• Strong attention to detail and weld quality.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and welding specifications.

Required Weld Tests

Candidates must successfully complete a weld test at the Greeley shop prior to deployment.

Stick Welding Tests

• 6" Schedule 80 carbon steel pipe, 6G
  • 6010 root
  • 7018 fill and cap
• 2" carbon steel super coupon, 6G
  • 6010 root
  • 7018 fill and cap
• 1" carbon steel plate structural test
  • Vertical and overhead 7018

TIG Welding Tests

• 2" Schedule 40, 316 stainless steel pipe, 6G
• 2" Schedule 80 carbon steel pipe, 6G

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, CO.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
