Overview
Surgical Tech travel assignment in the Surgical Tech specialty based in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 06/08/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay $1,266–$1,312 per week. Guaranteed hours 0.0. Shift 5x8 days. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This assignment is a travel, temporary position with a focus on ortho, neuro, and trauma cases.

Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in the operating room during surgical procedures, maintaining strict sterile technique and assisting the surgeon as needed.
- Set up and breakdown ORs for ortho, neuro, and trauma cases; pass instruments, tools, and supplies; manage instrument counts to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and exposure, while cooperating with the perioperative team to support smooth case flow.
- Maintain equipment readiness, stock supplies, and communicate supply needs to the team to prevent delays.
- Adhere to AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS requirements and enforce OR safety protocols during all procedures.
- Participate in call coverage as required, including at least 1 night per week and 1 weekend per schedule, with additional coverage based on unit needs.

Requirements
- Six months of OR experience or completed Scrub Tech course (required)
- BLS certification (AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS) required
- Active certification/license as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent per state requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical setting and adapt to variable schedules
- Must have worked in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months
- Ortho, Neuro, and Trauma experience preferred; 1+ years of related experience preferred
