Position Overview

Archetype Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) is seeking an experienced Bilingual Traveling Project Manager to oversee Division 27 telecommunications and structured cabling projects at large-scale data center construction sites throughout the United States.

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of telecommunications construction activities, coordinating field personnel, maintaining project schedules, communicating with customers and contractors, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with data center telecommunications, structured cabling, fiber optic, low-voltage, or related infrastructure projects and is comfortable traveling extensively to support projects across multiple markets.

Strong English and Spanish communication skills are required .

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Manage Division 27 telecommunications construction projects from mobilization through completion.
• Oversee daily project activities and ensure work progresses according to schedule.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and project resources.
• Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope of work.
• Track project milestones, production, manpower, and overall progress.
• Identify potential delays, labor shortages, material issues, and other project risks.
• Develop and communicate recovery plans when projects fall behind schedule.
• Ensure work is completed according to customer requirements and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.

Field Operations

• Provide leadership and direction to field supervisors, foremen, technicians, and installation crews.
• Monitor daily production and workforce performance.
• Coordinate multiple crews and shifts when required.
• Verify manpower levels are aligned with project requirements.
• Work with recruiting and operations teams to identify additional manpower needs.
• Conduct regular jobsite walkthroughs and verify installation quality.
• Ensure crews have the appropriate tools, materials, drawings, and information needed to perform their work.
• Address field issues quickly and escalate major concerns to leadership.

Division 27 Responsibilities

The Project Manager should have experience with telecommunications and data center infrastructure, including some combination of:

• Structured cabling
• Fiber optic installation
• Fiber optic splicing
• Fiber testing and certification
• Copper cabling
• Cable pulling
• Cable dressing and management
• Backbone cabling
• MDF / IDF installation
• Network infrastructure
• ISP infrastructure
• OSP infrastructure
• Telecommunications pathways
• Ladder rack
• Cable tray
• Data center connectivity
• Low-voltage infrastructure

Customer & Contractor Coordination

• Serve as a primary point of contact between AIS, customers, general contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings and provide project updates.
• Communicate schedule, manpower, production, and project issues.
• Build strong relationships with customers and project leadership.
• Coordinate with general contractors and other trades to prevent conflicts and delays.
• Communicate project requirements clearly to bilingual field teams.
• Help resolve customer concerns and field-level issues professionally.

Bilingual Responsibilities

Because AIS supports a diverse field workforce, this position requires the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish .

Responsibilities include:

• Communicating project expectations and instructions to Spanish-speaking employees.
• Translating project information and requirements when necessary.
• Facilitating communication between customers, management, supervisors, and Spanish-speaking field personnel.
• Helping ensure safety, quality, and production expectations are clearly understood by the workforce.

Safety & Quality

• Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
• Ensure crews follow OSHA requirements, customer safety procedures, and project-specific requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and jobsite inspections.
• Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective action is taken.
• Monitor quality of installation and workmanship.
• Ensure deficiencies are identified and corrected promptly.
• Support punch-list and closeout activities.

Project Reporting

Maintain and communicate accurate information regarding:

• Daily manpower
• Production
• Schedule progress
• Labor requirements
• Material requirements
• Project delays
• Safety issues
• Quality issues
• Change orders
• Punch-list items
• Project completion status

Provide regular updates to AIS leadership and customers as required.

Travel Requirements

This is a traveling position supporting data center construction projects throughout the United States.

The selected candidate must be:

• Comfortable with extensive travel.
• Willing to remain on project assignments for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in different states and project environments.
• Able to relocate temporarily based on project requirements.
• Available to travel on short notice when project needs require it.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management or field leadership experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, low-voltage, or data center construction.
• Experience managing large-scale construction projects.
• Data center construction experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Division 27 telecommunications scopes.
• Experience managing field crews and subcontractors.
• Strong scheduling and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and project specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish .
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, field-oriented project manager who can take ownership of a Division 27 project and effectively manage both the customer and the workforce.

You should be comfortable walking a jobsite, talking with foremen and technicians, reviewing production, solving problems in real time, and communicating project status to senior leadership.

You must be equally comfortable working with a general contractor's project executive as you are working directly with a Spanish-speaking field technician.

Compensation

Competitive salary based on experience, with travel-related compensation and benefits.

Compensation will be based on project management experience, data center experience, Division 27 knowledge, bilingual capabilities, and willingness to travel.
